WorldVentures Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children around the world. The primary audience was WorldVentures members and representatives who would be interested in donating time and/or money to support improving children’s education, drinking water, etc.
When I started this project, the foundation had just undergone a rebranding, so there wasn’t much developed yet in the foundation’s new look and feel. Therefore, the website was my opportunity to determine the direction the visual design would go. I used vibrant photographs to draw the user in, and I combined those bright colors with enough white space to give the eye a break and prevent the design from feeling too childish.
Due to resource and time constraints, we rolled out the website in phases. Phase One, shown below, had a silent video auto-playing on the desktop version, which converted to a static image on tablet and mobile. I also included animated details in the design, such as numbers that “ticked up,” and a colorful progress bar (showing year-to-date donations) that slid across the screen from the left.
HOW Magazine later featured the branding initiative, including this website, as a 2016 In-House Design Award Winner. In August 2017, the website won a Gold dotComm Award.
