WorldVentures Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world. When I started this project, the foundation had just undergone a rebranding, so there wasn’t much developed yet in their new new look and feel. Therefore, the website was my opportunity to determine the direction the visual design would go.
While the organization is focused on serving children, the primary donors are adults. Therefore, we developed the branding to be friendly and bright, yet sophisticated enough that an adult would stop to donate. Warm colors — pink and orange — give the brand an “inviting” feel, and photos of children reinforce who the organization serves. I used vibrant photographs to draw the user in, and I combined the bright colors with enough white space to give the eye a break and prevent the design from feeling too childish.
The branding initiative that included this website was later featured in HOW Magazine as a 2016 In-House Design Award Winner. In August 2017, the website won a Gold dotComm Award.
